I feel like I have some very interesting friends, those with stories to tell and who are being an influence in the spaces they serve in. I've reached out to them, shared the vision with them, and they've accepted the invitiation. Because I've recorded most of those episodes already I can give you the inside scoop of what to expect. Here are some of the episode topics that are coming your way along with their guests.

1. Leading in the 21st Century with George Carballo
George has been a friend of mine for many years and I've had the priveldge of serving with him in youth ministry for our district. He is the District Youth Director for the Texas Louisiana Hispanic District of the Assemblies of God. As a leader in this role for nearly a decade, he understands what it takes to lead this generation of young people as well as millennials. Times are always changing, cultural norms and trends always evolving, so what does this mean for our leaders? How do we need to adapt to continue reaching the current generation while staying true to the Gospel message? George offers his insight on the matter.

2. Small Church Problems with MIlton and Abraham
So many of today's smaller churches are closing their doors. There is an estimated 100-200 churches that will shut down this week alone. Meanwhile, larger churches continue to thrive and grow, new church plants with plans and strategies in place that are conducive to growth often find success as well. So why are so many churches dying? Milton Guardado and Abraham Guajardo share their thoughts on why this could be (I'll give you a hint, it's not a size problem, it's a mentality problem).

3. The Ask with Josh Rodriguez
This episode is directed towards those in non-profit, ministry, charity-type of work where the lack of money is often the biggest challange to an organization or cause. Josh is a college friend of mine and is now doing missions work in the Arab world. In this episode, he discusses some of the best tips he's used for raising funds for he and his family. If you're in a position of needing to ask for funds, don't skip this episode.

4. Influencing the Social World with Miranda Gloria
This is the first epidose where we don't touch on church ministry and dive deep into the passion and social lifestyle one awesome young lady. Miranda is a member of my church and has been an Instagram influencer for the past several years. Her influencing is not a ministry in the way one would define it but that doesn't mean she can't pursue her passions and use them as a responsible Christian. Many Christians don't find themselves in ministy, even less find themselves in full-time ministry. This is an episode targeted at those who have ambitions outside of church ministry and discuss how these folks can still be an influence in the industries they choose.

Why This Podcast? https://www.jrcpodcast.com/articles/whythispodcast Mon, 11 Mar 2019 17:00:00 -0500 johnryan@jrcpodcast.com 4068d8ad-b10b-44b7-a887-88c50274f9ab What's the Leading Podcast all about and why you should care? According to Apple, there are more than half a million podcast shows listed on iTunes (we'll set aside the fact that many of those are not acutally active). That's a lot of content. So why another? What can this show possibly offer that you as the listener haven't already been exposed to hundreds of times before?

The answer: I'm not sure yet. As much as I like to think of myself as a teacher, I'm defeinitely more of a learner. I started this posdcast mainly to do just that, learn. Not only that, however. I am also excited to be sharing what I learn with you. This podcast aims at providing insight to Chrisitans who find themselves in leadership positions or situations. What does that mean? Well, as Christians we are all called to lead in some compacity. We lead primarily by being the light of the world. What does light generally do? It's a resource that allows people to see where they are going; naturally people are drawn to what's lit (and not in the millennial connotation of the word lit).

So whether you are a leader in your church, business, workplace, whether you're the person people are drawn to in your social group, whether you're the only Christian in your family trying to draw them to Christ, this podcast is for you, the Christian. We will engage in a plethora of differing conversations with people of all influences and learn how they lead as a person and as a Christian. I'm excited to learn and I'm even more excited to share what I'll learn, with you!

Thanks for joining me.

Pastor, Father, Husband, Entrepreneur, and ultimately a person just like you,
John Ryan Cantu
